Greetings fellow adventurers, your friendly Eldritch Goblin here.

In the last weeks, I have been constantly thinking about the future development of Withering Light. What originally started as a simple experiment for a Game Design Jam, became something more. Something real.

Overall, the manual has been downloaded more than 250 times and several benevolent patrons contributed with small but much-needed donations helping me pay for the illustrations done by the extremely talented artist Simone Tammetta.

Still, I can't continue developing Withering Light for free as I lack the funds to pay for things I have in mind such as:

• I would like to expand the manual including even more black and white illustrations
• I would like to hire a professional designer to help me with the layout of the manual
• I would like to work on adventures, maps, and supplements for the game
• Last but not least, I would love to develop more content: additional Archetypes ("classes"), more Talents, more spells, more miracles.

Therefore, I have decided to do two things to help me develop the project:

1. Found Eldritch Goblin Games: an independent game design company that will help me develop and publish Withering Light and also many other projects I am working on.
2. Add a paywall for Withering Light: to gather the funds for the development of the project, I have decided to start selling the full illustrated manual here on Itch and on Drivethru for a symbolic price of 4.5 euros. I know it might sound harsh or unnecessary to some of you, but unfortunately, both illustrations and layout design are incredibly expensive and, at the moment, I lack the funds. Those who will buy Withering Light will be able to download the full illustrated manual and will receive updates including the latest fixes and artwork.
3. Free "demo" version: if you are unsure or simply want to see a "demo", just contact me on eldritchgoblingames@gmail.com and I will send you a free text-only version.

Salve cari avventurieri, è il vostro amichevole Eldritch Goblin che vi parla.

Nelle score settimane ho riflettuto parecchio sul future di Withering LIght. Nato inizialmente come un esperimento per una design contest, si è rapidamente trasformato in qualcosa di più. Facendo una breve panoramica, WL è stato scaricato più di 250 volte e diverse persone hanno contribuito con donazioni (molti italiani, vi ringrazio tantissimo). Grazie anche a voi, sono riuscito a commissionare numerose illustrazioni del talentuoso Simone Tammetta.

Nonostante tutto, non riesco a sviluppare Withering Light pagando di tasca mia tutti gli obiettivi che ho in mente tra cui:

• Espandere il manuale includendo sempre più illustrazioni
• Assumere un designer professionista che mi aiuti con l'impaginazione
• Creare mappe, avventure, supplementi accessori
• Sviluppare il "core" del gioco aggiungendo Archetipi (Classi), stregonerie, incantesimi e talenti.

Per questi motivi, ho deciso di fare due cose:

1. Creare Eldritch Goblin Games: con cui potrò sviluppare in modo indipendente WL e qualsiasi progetto futuro.
2. Aggiungere un paywall: WL sarà in vendita per la cifra simbolica di 4.5 euro qui e su DrivethruRPG. Ad alcuni voi questa scelta potrebbe sembrare non necessaria ma vi posso assicurare che le illustrazioni costano e senza un aiuto ecnomico non sono al momento in grado di continuare lo sviluppo. Coloro che decidono di supportarmi, riceveranno gratuitamente le future versioni del progetto con sempre più contenuto e artwork.
3. Versione Demo: qui o su drivethru potete scaricare una versione "demo" gratuita (una piccola preview). Se qualcuno di voi fosse ancora indeciso, potete contattarmi a eldritchgoblingames@gmail.com e sarò lieto di inviarvi una versione gratuita senza artwork del manuale.
